As part of her GCE O Level project, She created Ups and Downs as part of SES, an abbreviation of socioeconomic status. SES is a commentary on the social segregation of the varying socioeconomic status groups, accentuated through inequality of the lower segments. Heavily influenced by Singaporean artist David Chan, She utilized anthropomorphism to simplify and dehumanize characters while giving them its essential qualities for the audience to sympathize with the anthropomorphic figures.
